Hello. It seems so cold these days. It's hard to go out, so I've been staying at home all the time. But this weekend, the weather was nice, so I went on a date with my boyfriend for the first time in a while. Since it was a date after a long time, I wanted to eat something delicious. While looking for a good restaurant, I found Gwanho, which is famous for its delicious lamb ribs, and we went there.
We both walk a lot, so we use public transportation, and it was a 10-minute walk from Exit 5 of Yeouido Station, so it was nice. My boyfriend really likes lamb, and I haven't had it often, so I was a little nervous at first, but it was so delicious that I'm going to introduce it to you.
It wasn't hard to find. The logo was big on the building window, so I could recognize it right away, and when I left, I saw that there was a public parking lot in front of the building, so those coming by car could park there. We took the elevator up to the 2nd floor and went straight into the restaurant. The first thing that surprised me when I entered the store was that there was a cabinet for each seat in front of the store. You can store your personal belongings comfortably, and sometimes you lose or contaminate your items when you eat and talk too much, which is frustrating, but I didn't have to worry about that here, so it was nice.
There were a lot of seats in the store, and there were cute and fun logos here and there. Also, even though it's a lamb rib restaurant, there were a lot of alcoholic beverages. Since the alcoholic beverages were on display, my boyfriend, who likes alcohol, was excited to look at the alcoholic beverages and explain them to me.
Even for me, who doesn't know much about lamb, I liked the detailed descriptions on the menu that made it easy to understand what each menu was, and they recommended the best menus, so I was able to choose without much trouble even when I first visited. In addition, there were so many different types of alcohol, which was amazing. They usually have soju, beer, whiskey, highball, etc., so you can pair lamb with whatever alcoholic beverage you want, which would be great for people who like alcohol.
Since you're at a meat restaurant, the most important thing is the taste of the meat. Gwanho explained that this store has its own unique aging technique, and when I tasted it myself, the meat flavor was really different. There was no smell typical of lamb at all, and the rich meat flavor and soft texture were really good. It was grilled directly on charcoal, so the charcoal flavor was well absorbed, and when I ate it with a little salt provided, the flavor seemed to come alive even more.
I ordered green onion ramen to wash down the lamb, and it was full of seafood, so it was like the jjambbong ramen I had when I went to the beach. There were so many green onions on it that I was able to finish it off refreshingly. If you want to have a special meal, I recommend Gwanho, which has really delicious lamb~
