I’ve been so busy with work lately that I’ve been very busy for a while. Everyone often talks about how cold the weather is, but I’ve been so busy that I haven’t had time to care about whether it’s cold or hot. But maybe because of the weather, I feel like I’m not feeling well these days, and I feel like I’ve been too tired from work to take care of myself, so I met up with a friend who I haven’t seen in a while to have some delicious food.
While looking for something to eat that would give me energy and taste good, I found Gwanho, which sells lamb. I got out of Exit 1 of Saetgang Station and walked for about 10 minutes. I like lamb so much that I don’t have any aversion to it, but my friend was completely new to lamb, so we went together, very nervous.
My friend and I both love alcohol, and when we entered the restaurant, the first thing we saw was the alcohol on display. There were a lot of different types of alcohol, and the display was pretty, so my friend and I said that we couldn’t not drink today.
I ordered a stew for my friend who was eating lamb for the first time. In fact, if you want to have a drink, you have to have a soup dish. The stew here is made with beef brisket, so the soup itself is very rich, and when you eat the vegetables that come with it, the alcohol naturally goes down.
There are many kinds of alcohol, so it was fun to choose. I often see Ilpoom Jinro at restaurants like this, but there are also many kinds of Baekju, Jegalyangju, Ja-yak, and whiskeys like Balvenie, Glenfiddich, and Johnnie Walker, so it would be great for people who like alcohol to come. I felt that the owner is serious about alcohol because he allows corkage and even sets the price very cheaply.
We went in thinking we would have a meal, but the soup was so good that it ended up being a meal and a side dish, but other customers said that it is a dish that many people come for as a meal. As we were eating, my friend must have realized the charm of lamb, because he came later and said he wanted to try grilled lamb, so I felt proud for some reason.
After eating the various vegetables, mushrooms, and chewy fish in the stew, my stomach was full and my body was warm. It was so nice to have such a delicious meal after such a long time. Maybe because we drank alcohol with the stew, the alcohol tasted good. So we ordered raw beef as a side dish and it was much more delicious than we thought. I think it was a familiar yet new taste because it was made with a gochujang-based seasoning.
After finishing all the busy work, I felt so good to have a drink with delicious food with a friend for the first time in a long time. If you happen to come to this area, I highly recommend it!
